Welcome To The Moonpie's Beautiful Miniature Schnauzers Website
Dear Schnauzer Lovers,
There are many breeders and people out there selling schnauzers and all other kinds of puppies out of cars, parking lots, enormous barns, and wire-cages. We are not those kinds of people. At our home, our first litter arrived in November 2008 following Hurricane Ike. At that point in time, our home was only a three-ring circus instead of five! We then owned a thirteen-year-old Airedale and two young schnauzers. In all the frenzy of Ike, we noticed our schnauzers Bonnet and Sailor were together. We had never thought of breeding our dogs, but like many pet owners, we did not get around to spaying or neutering. Our failure ended up being one of those great-unanticipated rewards! When our first litter of pups arrived, our family found great joy in caring for these little furry wonders. It seems now only like yesterday, but seventeen puppies later, raising beautiful, affectionate, and healthy schnauzers seems to be one of the most special things we have done. It is also an experience I have shared with our closest of friends and family. I have never let a dog leave with a new owner that was not absolutely awesome! It is all about the perfect fit.
We are not a puppy mill and have very few puppies each year. Between my close friend and co-owner of Moonpie Farms Tracy Jones, we own only four females and three males. At the conclusion of this year, Bonnet and Karmah will be spayed. We believe that having puppies is a very limited thing for each female. Having too many pups does not allow the dogs we love time with us or give them enough time to enjoy their lives apart from mothering. At Moonpie Farms, our adult and puppies receive world-class care; leave our homes with responsible and committed pet owners, with puppy books, and all kinds of gifts that we have showered upon them since birth. They are never left unattended for any reason. In many instances where weather has permitted, puppies leave potty-trained (no joke) ! As a retired teacher who has won many awards for teaching high school and coaching law school teams, I take pride in teaching my schnauzers.
We live in the suburbs of Houston, own property outside of Nashville, Tennessee, and often hang out in Dallas, Texas where we lived for twelve years. Whenever possible, we try and deliver pups to these places. Unlike many breeders, we send multiple weekly pictures of pups to our prospective owners without being asked, and we are willing to spend time to support our families and our dogs forever. Visits are encouraged. I have been blessed to see many of my past pups periodically. Our buyer families are now part of our extended family. If I do not have a puppy, I will also always try and help a buyer find both the right breeder and pet. There are many good breeders out there, but some of them lack integrity. My best advice is to visit and check up on every breeder. Call their vets!
Our puppies range in price from around $800-$1500 depending upon size, coat, gender, and color. Our puppies to date have all had super thick or mega coats. We raise chocolate (liver), chocolate parti, and white chocolate small mini and toy schnauzers. Most of our pups mature at around 13 pounds. Two of our seventeen pups have been under ten pounds.
In finding your right puppy, it is so important to get on our mailing list or call us. There is no obligation. Many of our buyers have been families who have lost their beloved older schnauzers, and we have tried to be very sensitive to their needs. We hope to hear from you and get to know you should you contact us for any reason. Thank you so very much! I truly cannot imagine the Jacobs Family without our schnauzer babies.
Sincerely,
Margo Jacobs, Moonpie Farms Toy and Miniature Schnauzers
